Many of you already know this but, for those who don't, Ms. Dedijer is sick. She won't be in school for the next little while, because she is off to get better. She specifically asked that nobody out of gladstone including her past grads know, but that's a little impossible since word gets out like wild fire. Anyway, the point is, if anyone would like to send her something, a get well card, or whatever you like, then you can give it to Mrs. Green or Mr. Vansoldt by the end of this week, and they will pass it on to her. Take care everyone.

Is it safe to brag about how good it feels to be out of school yet? Hopefully all you UBC/SFU-goers are done or still surviving.

Anyway, it sure feels good. Hopefully everyone did well with their first semester. Capilano College has been real good so far. My first impressions of it last year were that it was real nice and a good school with good teachers. Well, for me, its been all that and more. I was lucky to have kick ass instructors (except maybe for my Jap teacher). I had a full course load with Psychology, English, Math, and Japanese. The campus is rather small compared to the universities, but that just makes it easier to get to classes.

My marks were generally pretty good, I scored the highest in my Psych class, and English (i think). And math... I never thought I would ever succeed in math after high school, but i averaged a B with both my math courses. In your face Mr. Yu and Gill. Japanese was definitely the hardest course despite how everyone who took it in high school said it was so easy. There's only one Jap teacher and she's crazy strict and we're usually pretty clueless after her lectures. I seriously thought I would be pretty close to failing but somehow i fluked on the final and earned myself a B- over all. Good thing we didn't make that bet Ly haha.

So I'm considering transferring to UBC or SFU after spring semester. I'm not sure what the minimum transfer gpa rate is but if i maintain the 3.5 from first semester into second, I'll probably get in. But then I might want to stay since everything is going pretty well and i could basically do everything i want at Cap that i can do at a university. Ahh,...we'll see.

What's everyone doing over the break?? I saw The Last Samurai on opening night with Maritza, and it has got to be the best movies this year. I wanna see it again. Is anybody going back to Gladstone for the winter concert? I miss that auditorium. Hopefully everyone shows up.

so, all the lights and decorations are being put away. this christmas has been pretty nice to say the least. aside from the myriad* of presents and the abundance of great food, this christmas was one not to be forgotten.

never spent the holiday with a significant other before. it was real nice. even though she was feeling a bit sick, she still looked effulgent* as ever. we exchanged gifts and baked cookies on christmas eve. us baking downstairs while christmas dinner was being prepared upstairs. there was enough aromatic food to make anyones mouth salivate. the cookies were pretty good, a few burnt but luckily maritza's sister favours those ones. with all the baking done and everything cleaned up, i had to go home to open presents with my family.

the best part of christmas has got to be the giving. receiving is great too but theres something about seeing peoples eyes light up as they uncover their gift that just sparks a convivial* chord in you. makes you wonder why people aren't munificent* more often.

after the christmas feast at susans house, we headed out to watch Lord of The Rings = The Two Towers. the previews were plentiful but the movie itself was awesome. if i was a hexadactyly* and had an extra thumb, id give it three thumbs up.

i couldn't help but notice the similarities between Harry Potter and LOTR. some of the characters look so similar! its almost as if J.K Rowling (harry potter author) ripped off characters from J.R Tolkien (LOTR author) maybe she did, but nonetheless, they're both worth watching.

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year. Drive safe and make sure theres enough room in the car for the people. wouldn't it suck if people would have to ride in the trunk?  And dont forget to take pee breaks if you're taking long car trips
